This extra heavy duty damp proof membrane is rated at 2000 gauge (500mu), making it one of the thickest and most durable DPM sheets available for general construction use. At 500mu, this is a true heavy duty damp proof membrane suitable for use under concrete floors, floor slabs, screeds and other building structures where reliable long term moisture protection is essential. BBA certified and CE marked, it provides a watertight barrier at greater than 2kPa and remains flexible down to minus 25°C. The 4m x 12.5m roll size makes it practical for covering large floor areas with minimal joins.
To help with specification: polythene thickness is expressed in either gauge or microns, with the two easily converted by dividing gauge by four. So 2000 gauge equals 500 microns, which equals 0.5mm. A 250 micron sheet is widely considered heavy duty, this 500mu DPM sheet is twice that thickness, making it the right choice for demanding applications where standard DPM would be undersized.
